Mucha and Street Art

Here are just a few examples of some of the many murals around the world inspired by Mucha's work.

Dublin, Ireland

James Earley's creative agency, Inputout, undertook a commission in 2013-2014 to create a mural for the exterior of the Blooms Hotel in Temple Bar, Dublin. The mural celebrates James Joyce's famous novel, Ulysses and represents five of the main characters in an Art Nouveau style, the prevalent aesthetic at the time of the book's first release. The piece took 8 months to complete.

Montreal, Canada

In 2011, five Montreal-based artists who make up the artist run collective A'shop, spent 16 days working on a Mucha-inspired five story mural using 500 cans of spray paint in over 50 different colors.

Los Angeles, USA

In 2010, Los Angeles based artist Mear One created a tribute to Alphonse Mucha. Mear One (aka Kalen Ockerman) has been active in LA’s graffiti and mural community for nearly three decades.
