Wednesday 16 December 6.00 pm
Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, University of East Anglia, Norwich
This event will present an opportunity to learn more about Mucha’s life and work and the work of the Mucha Foundation. John Mucha, grandson of Alphonse Mucha and President of the Mucha Foundation, will be in conversation with Paul Greenhalgh, Director of the Sainsbury Centre, to speak about Alphonse Mucha’s work and influence across a range of media, the wider culture of Art Nouveau and the work of the Mucha Foundation today, in Prague, Paris and worldwide. The conversation will touch on how the Mucha artistic estate managed to survive the turbulent historical times since Alphonse Mucha's death, times which also made a significant impact on the Mucha family.
John Mucha will be available to sign copies of the book Alphonse Mucha: In Quest of Beauty both before and after this event.
