An exciting new show will be opening at the Musée départemental de Bretagne in Quimper on 18 June. Including some 100 works from the Mucha Trust Collection, and a selection of works from the Musée départemental de Bretagne, Alphonse Mucha - La Beauté Art nouveau will look at the hitherto lesser known relationship between Mucha and Brittany, especially his interest in the folk art of the region, and will explore how it is reflected in his famous posters as well as in his pursuit of the expression of national identity.

Shiho Narushima will be giving a Belle Epoque piano recital to mark the opening weekend.
7 July to 25 August, 11am (45 minutes)
The museum's very own seagul, Lénaïck, will introduce children (3-6 year olds) to one of his favourite artists. Complete with stories, songs and drawings.
Wednesdays from 7 July to 25 August, 10am (2 hours)
Make your own Mucha poster! Following a tour round the exhibition, 7-11 year olds will be invited to make their own poster using watercolour, felt-pens, collage, and a good dose of imagination.
Fridays from 9 July to 27 August, 10am (2 hours)
Make an Art Nouveau portrait inspired by the aesthetic codes of Mucha... in biro!
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September, 10.30am (1h30)
"Quimper at the Belle époque" - discover the architectural gems of the 20th Century and conclude with a visit of the Mucha show.
